“To The Indian Army”: Vicky Kaushal on Winning the Dadasaheb Phalke IFF 2024 Best Actor Critics Award

The distinguished Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 winners have been announced. Several well-known celebrities in the field won awards in well-liked categories. Vicky Kaushal was one among them; he was awarded Best Actor (Critics) for his role in Sam Bahadur. The actor expressed his appreciation for the honor via a video message, even though he was unable to attend the ceremony for whatever reason.

Instagram users posted a little clip of the Vicky Kaushal-starrer video message. “Thank you so much to the Dadasaheb Phalke Award jury for honoring me with the Best Actor Critics for my work in Sam Bahadur,” the actor said in the video. He expressed regret that he couldn’t make it to the function since he had to go outside of Mumbai. The actor also thanked producer Ronnie Screwala, director Meghna Gulzar, and the whole Sam Bahadur team—which includes all of the technicians, writers, and co-actors—after accepting the award. Vicky thinks he was able to do his finest work because of the team’s backing.

“I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the family of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw for their assistance, love, and support,” Vicky Kaushal continued. Finally, he praised the Indian Army’s commitment and thanked the audience who had seen the movie in theaters and enjoyed it.

The actor congratulated the event organizers and reshared the video on his Instagram stories. “To the Indian Army,” he wrote.

Sam Manekshaw, the first Field Marshal of India, had a four-decade military career spanning five wars, as told by Sam Bahadur. He was the first commander in the Indian Army to be elevated to the position of Field Marshal.

Bangladesh was formed as a consequence of the 1971 Indo-Pak War, which Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army to victory in. During his illustrious military tenure, he fulfilled crucial functions. The film, which was directed by Meghna Gulzar, also featured Fatima Sana Shaikh as Indira Gandhi and Sanya Malhotra as Sam Manekshaw’s wife Siloo.

In addition to Vicky Kaushal, Shah Rukh Khan was awarded Best Actor for his remarkable role in Jawan. For the same movie, his co-star Nayanthara won the Best Actress award. Sandeep Reddy Vanga won the Best Director prize for Animal, while Anirudh Ravichander was also recognized for Jawan’s Best Music.
