I apologize; this is much appreciated. Unfortunately, I have to go outside of Mumbai for some reason, therefore I will not be able to attend the event today. It’s a great pleasure, and I want to thank my producer, Ronnie Screwala, and director Meghna Gulzar as well as the whole Sam Bahadur team, which includes all the writers, technicians, and co-actors who helped me give my finest performance. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw’s family for their help, love, and support. This one’s for my beautiful audience, who came to see the movie in cinemas, showered it with love, and gave us a lot of support. I really appreciate it. This one is dedicated to the Indian army, and that’s not all.

The film “Sam Bahadur” tells the life story of Sam Manekshaw, the first Field Marshal of India, whose military career lasted more than 40 years and five wars. Attained the rank of Field Marshal, making him the first Indian Army commander to achieve this feat.

Manekshaw, affectionately referred to as “Sam Bahadur,” led the Indian Army to victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak conflict, which resulted in the creation of Bangladesh. Manekshaw was instrumental in both the 1948 liberation of Hyderabad and the 1947 Indo-Pak War throughout his remarkable military career.

After “Raazi,” “Sam Bahadur” is Vicky and Meghna Gulzar’s second joint project.

Leading parts in the Meghna Gulzar-directed movie go to Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh. (ANI)
