What Is The Censor Board Doing? Allahabad High Court Slams Makers in the Adipurush Controversy

Since its release, the Adipurush film starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan has received a great deal of criticism for a variety of reasons. The Allahabad High Court’s Lucknow division took a harsh stance against the censor board and Adipurush’s creators in the midst of the issue.

The judge questioned “what is it that the censor board keeps doing? ” at a hearing on a request over the disputed dialogues in “Adipurush.” What do you want to impart to next generations?

The argument put out was that the Om Raut film’s figures of Ravana and Lord Hanuman were “completely divorced from the Indian civilization.” The petition criticized the language in the movie, calling it “ridiculous,” “low standard,” and “cheap.”

The creators of Adipurush agreed to reduce the cost of tickets for the Prabhas-starring movie’s Thursday and Friday performances to Rs 150 last week. Their action followed a significant decline in Adipurush’s box office take on Monday and Tuesday due to an intensifying reaction against the movie.

The film’s contentious lines have also been modified by the creators. The Lanka Dahan scene, in which Bajrangbali’s character is heard mouthing the sentence “Tel tere baap ka,” especially infuriated online users. I am the tere baap ki. Meghnad said, “Aur jalegi bhi tere baap ki.” The lines in the new prints, however, have been changed. The term “baap” has been replaced with “Lanka.”

Adipurush has not been able to find takers in theaters, however, and its box office revenues are steadily declining despite the adjustments made to the movie. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie suffered a setback with a Rs 1.75 crore nett collection on the second Monday.
