Following a quarrel over the fee, a man was found guilty of murdering a British Sikh cab driver

In central England last year, a 36-year-old man murdered a Sikh cab driver after a dispute over the fee. He was convicted guilty of manslaughter.

Anakh Singh, 59, was the victim of a “sickening assault” by Tomasz Margol on October 30, 2022, at Nine Elms Lane, which resulted in his immediate death, according to Wolverhampton Police.

He couldn’t be saved, according to the emergency medical personnel that arrived at the scene.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court, Margol of Bamford Road was found guilty on June 21. He will be sentenced on July 11.

Before they got into a fight about how to pay for the ride, Singh had picked up Margol in his cab. According to the Wolverhampton Police, this progressed to Margol assaulting Singh in a disgusting manner while he was on the ground, including headbutting, hitting, and kicking him.

Officers recognised Margol via CCTV analysis, detained him at a location a few miles away later that day, and charged him with murder.

“It’s about what happened today… about the beating,” he said while he was being detained.

“This was a horrible and needless act of violence. Mr. Singh was an upright, law-abiding individual who was only trying to perform his job. During this trying moment, our thoughts are with Mr. Singh’s family, Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood said.

Singh was the family’s primary source of income and a private hire driver for ABC Cars. “Anakh Singh was a devoted spouse, a devoted parent, and a respected member of the neighbourhood. We are devastated by this loss, and it has permanently altered our lives. We are really missing him,” Singh’s family remarked.
