New York State Senator celebrates Diwali with US Vice President Kamala Harris

On Wednesday, US Vice President Kamala Harris celebrated Diwali at her home. Senator Kevin Thomas of New York State and her husband, Doug Emhoff, accompanied her.

“Tonight in D.C., celebrating Diwali with @VP Kamala Harris was an honor.” May you have an abundance of light and a Diwali free from gloom. Cheers to Diwali! Senator Thomas of New York State made a post on social networking site X.

Speaking at the ceremony, Harris said that Diwali is being observed at a time when a lot is going on in the globe.

“We celebrate Diwali during a time when a lot is going on in the world,” she said. Furthermore, I believe it’s important to remember the context of knowing at all times as we celebrate Diwali, which is a celebration of the light we comprehend.As per Diya TV, the first South Asian TV network in America, “and there is definitely a difficult in the dark moment we are facing…in particular the reports coming out of Israel and Gaza and I know for all of us it’s devastating and heartbreaking.”

It is very essential that we celebrate holidays like Diwali because they are about expressing the truth and shining light. President Joe Biden and I are fighting to support Israel’s right to defend itself, she said.

Ajay Jain Bhutoria, an Indian-American entrepreneur, was also in attendance.

He shared images of the Diwali festivities on X, expressing his gratitude for being there with Harris and that it is an honor.

It is a pleasure to attend the Diwali celebration of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and Vice President Kamala Harris. I send my sincere wishes for healing and serenity to everyone experiencing hardship and upheaval during these difficult times. On X, he commented, “Let Diwali bring light and unity.”

Although making up 82% of all eligible votes in the US and making just 1% of the country’s population, Indian Americans are significant enough to have a significant impact in several key states.

Prominent American Indian President Biden and Vice President Harris, according to Ajay Jain Bhutoria, were crucial in aiding millions of Americans during the epidemic, and their outlook for the future is encouraging.
