Russia files a criminal complaint against the brother of Putin opponent Alexei Navalny

The brother of deceased Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Oleg Navalny, is the target of a new criminal lawsuit brought by Russia, the official news agency TASS said on Tuesday.

Oleg Navalny was already on the wanted list in relation to another issue; however, TASS did not specify which article of the penal code the case had been initiated under.

Oleg Navalny was given a 3.5-year jail term in 2014 for fraud, a charge that opponents of the Kremlin said was fabricated in order to put further pressure on his deceased brother.
