Russian tourist was killed by a shark in the Red Sea, and it will be mummified in an Egyptian museum

It is planned to mummify and showcase Ashark, the animal that attacked and killed a Russian tourist in Egypt’s Red Sea.

Earlier last month, a shark off the coast of an Egyptian resort in Hurghada ate 23-year-old Vladimir Popov alive. When the attack’s footage went viral on social media, Popov’s cries of “Papa, save me!” caught people’s attention.

In Egypt, social media was heavily used to share video footage of the event, which showed a person attempting to flee from the shark.

Popov was attacked by a shark while swimming at a resort beach area near the Red Sea, according to information provided by the investigating authorities.

The shark was captured, hauled to shore by boat, and fatally battered on Hurghada’s coast.

The shark’s stomach was where some of the Russian man’s body parts were found; the other pieces were found in the water by fisherman.

According to reports, experts at Egypt’s Institute of Marine Sciences and the Red Sea Reserves have started the process of embalming the shark in order to get it ready for display in the institute’s museum.

The mummified shark will be on exhibit in the institute’s museum when embalming is finished.

The shark was caught “to inspect it,” according to Egypt’s environment ministry, which said it had shown “abnormal behavior… leading to the incident.”

The shark was given to scientists so they could investigate the reasons for its actions and see if it is linked to another shark that “caused several previous accidents.”
