State of Union Address: US claims it has revived relations with allies similar to India as China rises

President Joe Biden said that the US has strengthened its alliances with friends and nations such as Australia, Japan, and India in the face of China’s ascent, accusing Beijing of unfair trade practices and jeopardizing peace across the Taiwan Strait.

In his farewell State of the Union speech on Thursday before a joint session of the US Congress, Joe Biden, 81, said that the US prefers competitiveness over confrontation with China.

As he runs for reelection in November, Biden said that America is more equipped than China to prevail in the struggle of the twenty-first century. We are defending peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait by opposing China’s unjust economic practices. We revitalized our alliances with the Pacific, including India. Australia, Japan, Korea, and South,” Democratic Senator Joe Biden said.

China maintains that Taiwan should be united with the mainland, even if it means using force, and views Taiwan as its renegade province. On the other hand, Taiwan believes it is entirely different from China.

China’s military campaign against the more than 23 million people living on the self-ruled island has intensified, raising worries across the world, particularly in the US.

He claimed to have heard Republican colleagues often claim that China is advancing while America is lagging behind.

They have it reversed. America is growing,” said Biden. The day before, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi intensified Beijing’s rhetorical assaults on the United States, Biden made his remarks on China.

Wang said that Washington had “wrong perceptions” about Beijing while speaking on the fringes of the annual assembly of the Chinese Parliament. Wang accused Washington of attempting to restrict China via sanctions. Wang said, “The list of unilateral sanctions is constantly being expanded, the means of suppressing China are constantly being updated, and the desire to punish China has reached an unfathomable level.”
