72.3 percent of Delhi ITI students were placed in 2023–2024

This academic year, Delhi’s Industrial Institutes of Technology (ITIs) had attained a remarkable placement record of 72.3%. ITI Dheerpur and ITI Vivek Vihar, two of Delhi’s 19 ITIs, have the highest placement rates—97% and 94%, respectively—among them. According to Career360, alumni from these ITIs have landed jobs in prestigious organizations like Hero, LG, LnT, Bharat Electronics, Tata Group, and more.

Among the 14,800 students enrolled in Delhi’s 19 ITIs, an astounding 10,700 have been placed in different organizations. The other students have chosen to work for themselves.

The Delhi government oversees a network of six women’s and thirteen coed ITIs in the area. Together, the 19 ITIs provide courses in 61 trades, including 23 non-engineering and 38 engineering crafts. The Kejriwal government’s targeted placement strategy for these institutions is credited with the placement success of Delhi’s ITIs.

“The Kejriwal government’s focused placement strategy for these institutes is the reason behind the placement numbers of Delhi ITIs,” Minister of Technical Education Atishi said during a news briefing. Students are now empowered and the gap between education and work is closed because to our dedication to offering high-quality technical education and guaranteeing solid placements.

Atishi went on to say, “The government established the Centralized employment and Industry Outreach Cell to guarantee improved employment prospects and industry exposure for ITI students. This cell has chosen a transformation plan for placement with the goal of modernizing the placement method via an emphasis on job fairs, career services, flexible learning alternatives, industry-academia cooperation, and more.

She emphasized that the primary objective of this approach is to establish a dynamic and industry-aligned placement system by bridging the gap between conventional education and the evolving needs of the labor market.

The Innovative Placement Approach of the Delhi Government for ITIs:

1. The strategy for increasing ITI placements is centered on continuing to be committed to offering a solid foundation in skill education. ToT (Train-the-Trainer) programs are used to train instructors in this situation.

2. A focus is placed on enhancing partnerships with nearby firms to provide students invaluable experiences via industry visits, internships, and hands-on training.

3. The plan calls for creating all-inclusive career services that include training in soft skills, interview preparation, and resume construction.

4. It seeks to provide adaptable learning opportunities in line with the evolving needs of the labor market.
