75% of JEE(M) applicants take both tests in order to increase their score

NEW DELHI: Three of every four students in the upcoming JEE-Main 2024 have chosen to sit for both test sessions, demonstrating an increasing trend of individuals looking to maximise their chances of scoring well and raising their rankings.

48.3% of applicants have opted to attend both sessions, according to registration statistics for the April session, while another 27.9% have registered to attend the second session.
This pattern is similar to the one seen in the January session, when a record-breaking 12.2 lakh applicants registered, with 33.3% being female.

There has also been a notable increase in registrations for the April session, with 11.9 lakh candidates registering for the test. The determination of students to take advantage of the chance to improve their scores and ranks is shown by the 3.4 lakh applicants who chose to switch from the January to the April session.

For applicants who want to attend both sessions, the NTA will issue the final merit list based on the best of two scores.
The ranking of JEE-Main as the third-biggest admission exam in India remains unchanged. To get entry into the esteemed IITs, students must pass the JEE (Advanced) exam, which is open to the top 2.6 lakh finishers from JEE-Main.
