Meet the woman who started the Rs. 182884 crore business and might be kicked out of it; she lost

As her firm deals with a significant issue, Divya Gokulnath, co-founder of Byju’s and wife of Byju Raveendran, is trending on social media. According to sources, Byju’s investors have demanded an EGM in order to remove the company’s founders and their families. Investors’ frantic action follows the edtech startup’s sharp decline in value. For those who don’t know, Byju’s is now worth less than Rs 1662 crore, down from its peak valuation of over Rs 182884 crore. This indicates that the firm founded by Divya Gokulnath lost Rs 180806 crore in value. Divya Gokulnath, whose net worth was estimated to be Rs 4550 crore by Kotak Hurun, was once among the wealthiest women entrepreneurs in India and was on the verge of being fired from her own firm.

Divya Gokulnath was born in 1987 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Her mother was a programming executive for Doordarshan TV station before she started working as a nephrologist at Apollo Hospitals.

Divya Gokulnath was taught by Byju Raveendran in her tuition sessions. She comes from a middle-class household. 2008 saw Divya Gokulnath, then 21 years old, start her teaching profession. Later, in 2011, Divya and her husband worked together to establish Byju’s, an online learning platform. Divya first made appearances in videos as a teacher. Divya oversaw brand marketing, content, and user experience throughout India’s COVID-19 shutdown.

Divya Gokulnath, an edtech entrepreneur, is among the highest-paid in the industry, with a gross remuneration of Rs 1.94 crore for the Financial Year 2020, according to Inc42.
