Nine state students undergoing training to increase cattle output

Approximately thirty students from nine states are receiving training in the newest technologies to improve livestock productivity during a ten-day workshop at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-National Dairy Research Institute (ICAR-NDRI) on “Biotechnological techniques in animal nutrition for enhancing livestock productivity.”

The workshop was mainly funded by the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) under the “Accelerate Vigyan Scheme” of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, according to Dr. Dheer Singh, Director, ICAR-NDRI.

“To provide emerging researchers pursuing master’s and doctoral degrees across the nation with practical experience and knowledge enhancement in specialized fields and cutting-edge technologies,” said the workshop’s director.

Dr. Singh congratulated the scholars on being chosen for the training program and advised them to make use of the institute’s cutting-edge research facilities and internationally renowned faculty to study as much as they could. He encouraged the young, passionate participants to use their increased knowledge and proficiency in the scientific field to become employment producers rather than job seekers. In all areas of the dairy industry, he said, the NDRI is the “seat of learning.” Participants should use this wonderful chance to learn, do research, and take the lead in innovation.
