96 critical voting places in Kaithal

According to Kaithal Deputy Commissioner Prashant Panwar, plans were in place to hold the district’s Lok Sabha elections in a transparent, peaceful, equitable, and orderly manner. Throughout the district, adherence to the model code of conduct shall be guaranteed.

The DC and Superintendent of Police Upasana spoke with reporters at the Mini-Secretariat on Tuesday about the preparations and mentioned that Kaithal district has four Assembly constituencies: Kaithal, Pundri, Kalayat, and Guhla. These constituencies are all part of the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency. There are 8,11,623 voters in these constituencies overall, consisting of 4,27,914 males, 3,83,698 women, and 11 transgender voters. In the district, 807 polling places have been set up for the convenience of these voters. Six voting booths fall under the hyper-sensitive category, out of the 96 that have been designated as sensitive.

He said that provisions for voters’ comfort, such as power supply, ramps, drinking water, and accessible restrooms, had been established at every polling place.

He announced that voters with impairments and those 85 years of age and older will be allowed to cast ballots from home. Teams will be established in order to assist voting after receiving their approval. The government has put in place sufficient measures to ensure free and fair elections. Upon receiving reports of infractions of the model code of conduct, prompt action will be implemented. Teams for surveillance and flying squads have been called into action for this reason.

The DC said that tight oversight of election spending would be maintained, and bank transactions will be closely examined. The district office will be equipped with a control room. In the control room, the toll-free number 1950 will continue to function. Furthermore, grievances filed using the C-Vigil App will be resolved in the allotted period.

Kaithal district has four Assembly seats: Kaithal, Pundri, Kalayat, and Guhla. These constituencies are all part of the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency.
