A man was shot and injured; one suspect was taken into custody in Amritsar, while the other fled

Following minor disagreements over putting a vehicle aside here yesterday, two people in Bal Kalan village fired at an NRI and the AAP circle in-charge, Manjit Singh Khalsa.

He was shot in the right shoulder and taken to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. One of the suspects, Kuldeep Singh of Bal Kalan village, was apprehended by the police while his son Gurchanan Singh was escaping.

In his police testimony, Manjit Singh said that he and his family were planning to go by automobile to attend a relative’s wedding. He said that the suspect’s automobile had blocked the roadway as they got close to Kuldeep Singh’s home. The victim said that when he honked, Kuldeep and his kid left their house. Their automobile was blocking the street, so he asked them to move it. He said that the two began to complain. The victim said that Gurchanan removed his iron bracelet, or karah, and shattered the window of his automobile when he urged the suspects to relocate their vehicle once again.

As he got out of the vehicle, the victim said he asked, “Why did you break the glass in my car?” According to him, Gurchanan entered the home, emerged with a firearm, and started shooting at him. The perpetrators left the scene as the victim, who had been shot in the right shoulder, began to bleed. According to the victim, his brother Kulwinder Singh also arrived at the location and took him right away to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital.

Manjit Singh had apparently lately returned from Kuwait and joined the AAP.

Kuldeep and his son Gurchanan are the subjects of an attempted murder case and an Arms Act complaint, according to Amarjit Masih, the SHO of the Kamboh police station. According to the SHO, operations were underway to apprehend Gurchanan, who was still evading capture while Kuldeep was being held.
