A Parts Of Assam, Meghalaya Earthquake

According to authorities, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake shook the northeast on Friday, shaking Assam and Meghalaya among other places.

The earthquake, which had its epicentre in Bangladesh’s adjoining Gopalganj region, was reported at 10.16 am, according to the National Centre for Seismology.

According to the authorities, the tremors were felt across much of Assam and in a few locations in Meghalaya.

There have been no reports of casualties or property damage as of yet.

Because the northeastern area is located in a strong seismic zone, earthquakes often occur there.
