AAP Criticizes Rajnath After Defense Minister Criticizes Mann Government Over Law and Order Issue

After the Union Defense Minister criticized the Bhagwant Mann administration over the problem of peace and order, the governing AAP attacked Rajnath Singh, alleging that he was preoccupied with the situation in Punjab but unaware of what was happening in Manipur.

AAP Punjab spokesman Malvinder Singh Kang said in a statement that the defence minister should concentrate on containing the unrest and bloodshed in Manipur before commenting on the status of law and order in Punjab.

Manipur is rife with violence. Thousands of people have lost their homes and hundreds of people have already perished, yet the BJP’s central minister is playing politics, he said.

He said that the home minister is organizing demonstrations, the rest of the ministers are busy denouncing the opposition parties, and the prime minister has left for a foreign trip.

All cabinet members, including the prime minister, “should have focused their attention on ending the violence in Manipur while looking at the current situation in Manipur,” said Kang.

He said that either Rajnath had been intentionally mislead or that someone else had done so.

Punjab is the nation’s most tranquil state, where a strong sense of brotherhood exists. Therefore, he said, such a careless comment from a leader like Rajnath Singh is utterly inappropriate.

Rajnath Singh already challenged the Punjab AAP administration over the peace and order situation without mentioning any specific individuals.

Singh was speaking to a crowd at this location as part of the BJP’s public outreach campaign, “Sampark Se Samarthan,” to commemorate the conclusion of the nine-year Narendra Modi administration at the Center. He said that the Central government is worried anytime there is a law and order crisis in the border state.

According to Singh, Amarinder Singh consistently offered assistance to the Centre on the law and order problem while serving as Punjab’s chief minister.

“The situation has altered today. You have extensive knowledge on the current Punjabi government. What is going on over there?

I believe that a state or a nation cannot advance if its internal and exterior security are weak, the speaker said.

The Union Minister said, “I expect from this government that there should be an initiative from your side towards maintaining law and order in the state,” in reference to the AAP government in Punjab. However, I recognize that this government did not.
