AAP Faces Major Setback As Delhi Court Turns Down Both of Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s Bail Appeals

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suffered a major blow on Tuesday when Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court denied both the imprisoned leader and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s bail requests in the Delhi liquor scam case.

Sisodia is going to stay behind bars.

In the Delhi excise policy case, Sisodia submitted two bail pleas, which Special CBI Judge Kaveri Bawega denied.

Bail requests were made in opposition to the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) cases.

Sisodia’s bail plea was fiercely resisted by the ED and the CBI, who referred to him as the “kingpin” of the liquor scam. The investigative agencies claimed that Sisodia would tamper with evidence if he was granted bail.

Sisodia is anticipated to file a case in the High Court challenging the trial court’s ruling.
