According to Congressman Selvaperunthugai, the PM was unable to curb the drug problem in the nation

The head of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, Selvaperunthugai, said on Monday that the union administration, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has failed to curb the drug problem in the nation.

Speaking to reporters at Thoothukudi airport, Sevlaperunthugai said that while the state government had requested Rs 37,000 crore, Modi had been asking for votes in Tamil Nadu without giving any funding for flood relief and repair efforts.

In the same way that he deceived people in the north, the prime minister believes he can con Tamils. However, he said, “Tamils are prepared to duly return his indifference in the next Lok Sabha elections, as they will never forget it.”

He said that the coalition would win 400 seats in the Lok Sabha and that the INDIA bloc parties are preparing for the elections. He brought up the issue of Bhagavan Singh, a BJP candidate who declined to run on the party’s ticket in West Bengal, saying, “The BJP is worried about losing.”

In response to a question about AIADMK functionary D Jayakumar’s comments on the Congress and AIADMK forming an alliance, Selvaperunthugai said that while the AIADMK has always been eager to form an alliance with the Congress, it has not happened since the DMK is a longstanding partner of the Congress.

“The seat-sharing negotiations are going well, and DMK president and chief minister MK Stalin never underestimates the Congress,” he said.
In response to state BJP president K Annamalai’s charge that Tamil Nadu is the nation’s drug capital, Selvaperunthugai said that the prime minister’s home state of Gujarat, Mundra and Kandla port, serve as the hub of the drug gang.

“Several thousand tons of narcotics have been found in Gujarat’s ports, which have served as drug entry points. The state Congress president said that narcotics and other contraband are trafficked from Gujarat to Tamil Nadu via the Krishnapatnam port in Andhra Pradesh.

He said that Prime Minister Modi was in charge of all intelligence agencies of the union government, including the RAW, Intelligence Bureau, Central Armed Police Forces, and others, and that Modi had failed to curb the drug problem. “Contraband cannot be moved between states without the knowledge of union government agencies like the Narcotics Control Bureau,” he said.

The prime minister has to provide an explanation for his inability to curb the drug problem when he is in Chennai. In addition, he said that he needed to release a white paper outlining his plans to address unemployment by creating two crore jobs, strengthen the Indian rupee to value parity with the US dollar, and boost the MSME sector.
