Another shock to BRS is that Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter are planning to join the Congress

In the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and AICC in-charge for Telangana Deepa Dasmunshi, BRS MLA and former deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Kadiyam Kavya are expected to join the Congress on Saturday.

The father-daughter pair received an invitation to join the Congress when Deepa Dasmunshi, Mallu Ravi, the candidate for Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha, AICC secretaries Vishnudas and SA Sampath Kumar, and Khairatabad Congress president C Rohin Reddy visited their home.

The Congress delegation’s meeting with Srihari and Kavya was a follow-up to Kavya’s letter to BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao, in which she announced her withdrawal from the Warangal contest due to the party’s rapid decline in popularity due to reports of its involvement in several scams.

K Keshava Rao, a Rajya Sabha member, visited Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills home in the meanwhile. The MP who made the decision to go back to the Congress spoke to the chief minister about his desire to join the venerable organization.

Subsequently, the MP said that he held many roles in the Congress for about 55 years.

After meeting with the Congress team, Srihari spoke to the media and gave various reasons for his departure from the BRS, including the pink party’s declining credibility due to the leaders departing one by one every day. Before making a decision, he said he will confer with his followers about the idea of entering the Congress.

Kavya is expected to run on a Congress ticket for the Warangal SC Lok Sabha constituency.

Former deputy chief minister Dr T Rajaiah, who quit the BRS in February, is now attempting to get the pink party ticket for Warangal after Srihari and Kavya made the decision to join the Congress. He was not thrilled with the BRS leadership for selecting his adversary Srihari over him in the 2023 Assembly election, even though he was a sitting member of parliament from Station Ghanpur. Despite becoming the head of the Rythu Bandhu Samiti, Rajaiah was not particularly comforted by the position.

The party is also taking into consideration former minister Babu Mohan’s name for Warangal, which is an intriguing development. According to a source, KCR, the president of BRS, phoned Babu Mohan and extended an invitation to join the party, offering him the Warangal Lok Sabha seat. After KCR rejected Babu Mohan’s 2018 nomination for the Andole Assembly seat, he quit the BRS and joined the BJP in 2019.
