Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, predicts that the “Alliance of Corrupt” would fall apart like a house of cards

Anurag Thakur, a Union Minister, launched a new attack on opposition parties’ efforts to unite, saying on Saturday that they should announce their leader to the nation and that their corrupt “thagbandhan” would “collapse like a pack of cards” if they don’t.

At a rally in Panipat, Haryana, Thakur said that Friday’s meeting in Patna included representatives from 15 opposition groups.

The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who had hosted the meeting, was not acknowledged by the parties as the convener, according to the Minister for Information and Broadcasting. “Though they came together, their hearts did not meet,” he alleged.

He said that they don’t have a leader, a plan, or any motives that are pure.

The meeting yesterday was nothing but a comedy. This “natak mandli” (drama company) has come together, and the “rang manch” (stage) is being adorned and the characters are being selected in front of the 2024 elections. There will be a drama. Support will come up often.

“People will laugh at them as they did the last time and make these corrupt people sit at home,” predicted Thakur.

The pivotal Friday meeting, when opposition parties decided to oppose the BJP together in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, was attended by more than 32 leaders of more than a dozen political groups.

According to Thakur, none of the opposition parties have indicated who would be in charge of their coalition.

Thakur attacked Rahul Gandhi by saying, “Only a marriage proposal of Rahul Gandhi was passed (in the meeting) because Mummy ji is irritated.”

He said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge should announce their leadership choices.

Thakur requested a statement on Article 370 from the heads of the opposition parties. “Will they introduce Article 370 once more? Will the GST be abolished? Can they provide a trustworthy government? He queried.

Also mentioning the apparent divisions among the opposition, he said, “(AAP leader Arvind) Kejriwal left them.”

Thakur enumerated the accomplishments of the Narendra Modi administration over the last nine years and expressed confidence that voters will once again choose a BJP-led government at the center in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

In addition, he attacked Mamata Banerjee, the leader of the TMC, and the RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav over the fodder scandal, claiming that money was being requested in exchange for West Bengal employment.

Nitish Kumar has achieved new milestones. A bridge worth Rs 1,750 crore that took 10 to 12 years to build twice collapsed, according to Thakur.

This opposition unity would also fall apart, he said, “like a house of cards.”

The choice, he continued, is between this “mandli (team) of corrupt people who are forging a ‘thaghbandhan’ or an honest leader who served the country.”

He said that there was no corruption during the Modi administration.

Targeting the former UPA administration, Thakur said that “there was a time when the media highlighted scams after every two months, like the AgustaWestland helicopter scam, Commonwealth Games scam, and 2G scam.”

He said that “jija ji ka ghotala” sometimes occurred in Haryana.

Thakur praised the Modi administration, saying that under his leadership, the country’s reputation grew abroad.

across reference to the prime minister’s state visit to the United States, Thakur added, “Today, only ‘Modi, Modi’ is echoing in the world.”

According to Thakur, the Modi administration has built 3.50 crore homes and 12 crore toilets over the last nine years, created bank accounts for every household, given free food to 80 crore needy people, and repealed Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

He also said that India overtook the UK to become the world’s fifth-largest economy.

“What was not even thought of earlier was accomplished by the Modi government,” he said.

He also discussed the efforts made to widen national roadways, as well as the inauguration of 390 new colleges and the construction of “74 new airports.”

“What the Congress could not do in 70 years, the Modi government did it in nine years,” he said.
