approved the purchase of property for an expansion road

The purchase of more than 0.80 acres in Bharthal village for the long-awaited Urban Extension Road (UER-II) has been authorized by Lieutenant-Governor VK Saxena.

It is intended to provide a bypass between North and South-West Delhi and relieve traffic on Dhaula Kuan and other parts of the outer and inner ring roads. It is proposed as the third ring road for Delhi in the Delhi Master Plan.

According to officials, the purchase was essential to the project’s success. They said that the project had been delayed by seven years only because this property piece had not been acquired.

“The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had requested the acquisition of land at Bharthal village in April of 2016,” said representatives of the L-G office. However, a number of ongoing lawsuits prevented the process from being finished.

This route, which would link North Delhi’s Narela, Bawana, and Rohini neighborhoods to the Dwarka sub-city, IGI Airport, and Gurugram, was planned by the DDA and would run from NH-1 to NH-2. According to an official, it also seeks to link all of the main NHs on Delhi’s western side.

The source said, “It would also provide a different route between Delhi and Gurgaon and further up to Rajasthan via Southern and Eastern regions of Haryana (containing districts of Ambala, Panipat, Karnal, Rohtak, and Bahadurgarh).
