Arriving in Jammu, Rajnath Singh will speak at the security summit

According to authorities, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh came here for a daylong visit during which he would speak at a national security summit and discuss Jammu and Kashmir’s political situation with top BJP leaders.

The head of the BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit, Ravinder Raina, and other top figures, including MP Jugal Kishore and Jammu Mayor Rajinder Sharma, met Singh at the airport as he was accompanied by Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, they said.

The security conference, which was held at the University of Jammu to showcase the accomplishments of the Narendra Modi-led administration, began shortly after Singh arrived.

The conclave will be attended by around 1,500 special invitees, including defence specialists, former distinguished army officers, professors, physicians, and young people.

The defence minister will discuss India’s “strong position” in defence and other issues pertaining to the country’s security and the protection of its inhabitants at the non-political event, Raina said on Sunday.

The minister will preside over a meeting of top BJP leaders at the party’s Trikuta Nagar headquarters after his presentation to the conclave, where they will examine the political climate and talk about organisational issues.
