Attack on J&K’s fundamental identity, according to Mehbooba Mufti

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti asked the National Conference and Congress workers to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a larger cause on Tuesday, stating that the PDP is the only political party in Jammu and Kashmir that can act as a bulwark against what the party called “the current assault being launched on multiple fronts to erode Jammu and Kashmir’s core identity.”

In order for the people’s rightful voice to be heard in Parliament, she emphasized that the workers of the National Conference and Congress needed to realize the seriousness of the situation and provide their support to the PDP.

“People’s overwhelming participation in her rallies is evidence that the PDP lives in people’s hearts and represents their aspirations,” Mehbooba said.

According to her, the purpose of the current elections in Jammu and Kashmir is not to fill a position or select a chair; rather, it is to send a clear message to the Parliament about the disenfranchised people of the region, telling those in power that what was done on August 5, 2019, was wrong and that anything that was taken from us had to be returned with interest.

“The purpose of the current polls, according to Mehbooba, is to give a voice to the Parliament about the actions that are causing Jammu and Kashmir to be robbed of its rich resources, jobs, lands, and most importantly, its distinct identity.”

“At all costs, we will not let it to occur. The Parliament serves as a platform for us to express our concerns and draw attention to the wrongs done to our people since 2019,” Mehbooba said.
