Bhubaneswar: Proponents of Aparajita and Manmath yell

Bhubaneswar: During the nomination filing, supporters of BJD MP candidate Manmath Routray and BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi raised their voices and created a boisterous scene at the Khurda collectorate.

Following her prayers at Jalna’s Maa Bhuasuni temple, Aparajita and her followers went to the Khurda collectorate to submit the nomination. Additionally, a scooter rally was organized by female supporters from Baramunda Ground to Khurda.

“With the grace of Lord Jagannath and Lord Lingaraj, I am running for the Lok Sabha seat in Bhubaneswar once again. The people in the constituency are fighting for this,” she said.

Manmath Routray, the son of Suresh Routray, the Congress MLA, also rode a bullock cart and blew conches to reach the Khurda collectorate.

“The bullock cart represents my lineage as the son of Paika, a peasant fighter. The throng that is following me to the collectorate overwhelms me. “I am optimistic about achieving a historic win in the elections,” he said to reporters.

During the parade, his father and Jatni MLA Suresh Routray—who was kicked out of Congress for supporting his son’s BJD candidacy—were spotted engaging in a traditional sword dance.
