China’s assertions about Arunachal are ludicrous and inaccurate historically, says Congress

The Congress responded on Tuesday, stating that China’s claims on Arunachal Pradesh are ludicrous, irrational, and historically inaccurate. China had produced what it dubbed the “2023 edition of the standard map of China” the day before, portraying Aksai Chin and all of Arunachal Pradesh as being inside its boundaries.

According to sources citing local Chinese media, China on Monday unveiled its map, portraying Aksai Chin and the whole of Arunachal Pradesh as being inside its boundaries. This recent development might result in yet another diplomatic scuffle between the Congress and the BJP administration.

According to them, the map was made public by China’s ministry of natural resources.

Manish Tewari, a former Union Minister and leader of the Congress, said, “A brief history of the India-China Border dispute. China makes ludicrous, irrational, and historically wrong accusations about Arunachal Pradesh. On Arunachal Pradesh, China has no claims. Return of illegally acquired land, which has been a point of contention between India and China since April 2020.

Beijing had previously said in April that it will “standardize” the names of 11 locations in Arunachal Pradesh.

Additionally, the publishing of the map coincides with less than a week before the G20 conference in New Delhi, which Chinese President Xi Jinping is also anticipated to attend.

The G20 meeting will occur between September 9 and September 10.

Arunachal Pradesh has “always been” and “always will be” a crucial component of India, according to official statements.
