Congress to draw attention to Punjab’s low law and order and employment shortage

At a meeting today, the state Congress’s senior leadership resolved to take the AAP government to task on declining peace and order, unemployment, and illicit mining, in addition to criticizing the BJP for not giving farmers MSP for all crops.

The meeting was attended by LoP Partap Singh Bajwa, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Pargat Singh, Rana Gurjeet Singh, Punjab Affairs Chief Devendra Yadav, and PCC Chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

According to a top official, the high command had requested ideas for a state-specific campaign that would launch in the coming days.

Farmers are being prevented from traveling to Delhi by the BJP. Senior Congress leaders said, “We are going to effectively use the anti-farmer policies of the BJP in our campaign.” They also threatened to take aim at the AAP for not keeping its election-related pledges.

They added that meetings were being conducted to finalize the lyrics and social media material.

The old party has been trying to engage the voters via songs since it felt that the farmers’ protests had generated enough resentment against the PM Narendra Modi-led BJP administration, according to sources.

According to reports, “issues like unemployment and illegal mining would also be highlighted on social media under the AAP government.”
