One of the primary projects is the six-lane Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata highway, which would reduce the fifteen-hour journey time to nine hours.

Package I of this project, which would cost Rs 1,317 crore including land acquisition, will have its foundation stone laid by PM Modi. The building of a 27-kilometer road (green belt) is part of this package.

The highway is anticipated to boost industrial activity and reduce logistical costs by linking several large cities.

The future six-lane greenfield Varanasi-Kolkata expressway will be known as NH319B by the National Highways Authority of India.

The 610-kilometer Varanasi-Kolkata highway would link four districts in Jharkhand and Bihar before passing through the Purulia district and into West Bengal.

The highway will begin in Varanasi, cross into Bihar at Chand, which borders Chaudali in Uttar Pradesh (UP), and end about 160 kilometers later at Imamganj in Gaya.

near order to bridge the Sone River near Tilauthu, Sasaram, and approach Aurangabad via the Grand Trunk route, a five-kilometer tunnel is suggested in the Kaimur hills.

The Hindustan Times reports that the expressway, which would cost Rs 35,000 crore, will enter Jharkhand via Hunterganj in Chatra and depart through Ramgarh and Hazaribag in the Purulia district of West Bengal.

The Jharkhand Road Construction Department (RCD) intends to link the expressway with Ranchi’s ring road, per reports. After the NH319B highway is finished, the time it takes to go from Kolkata to Varanasi would be reduced by half.

The current travel time to cover the 690 kilometers between Varanasi and Kolkata is about 12–14 hours. Due to its connection to the soon-to-be logistics park in Gaya, the route is also anticipated to increase commercial activity in Bihar.
