Driver and aide of a Delhi e-rickshaw arrested for killing a passenger during a robbery

Delhi, New: Two males, one of whom is an e-rickshaw driver, have been taken into custody by the Delhi authorities for the suspected murder of a 26-year-old man and the theft of his cell phone and ₹ 400 from him in the vicinity of a community center in northeast Delhi, authorities said on Wednesday.
Vijay was stabbed four times in the neck and chest, according to the police. His lifeless corpse was discovered at a wayside park.

“On Tuesday morning, the Welcome police station got a PCR call. An autopsy was performed on the corpse, and an inquiry was started. Afterward, the victim was recognized as Vijay, who was reliant on his sisters and jobless, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast), Joy Tirkey.

Afterward, Shehzad (20), an e-rickshaw driver, and his friend Tahir (36), who lived in the Janta Majdoor Colony, were taken into custody by the police.

“We reviewed the CCTV video and saw the victim visiting several places on December 18 at about 11:29 p.m. The DCP said, “We examined every car, and the team decided on an e-rickshaw.”

Shehzad admitted to the crime during questioning and informed the authorities that he and his companion Tahir had robbed the passenger of his cell phone and ₹ 400.

“The victim had fought the attempt at robbery, but these accused pushed him out of the e-rickshaw and escaped after stabbing him in the neck and chest. The e-rickshaw utilized in the incident, the bloodstained garments worn by the accused, the SIM card that was stolen, and the stolen mobile phone have all been found. The DCP said, “More research is being done.
