Goa CET is No Longer Available; Admission to BE and BPharm Programs via JEE Main and NEET 2024
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main must be taken by candidates in lieu of the Goa CET test in order to be admitted to engineering degree programs in the state, according to a statement released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa. The Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), which was administered by DTE to candidates for professional degree programs including BTech and BPharm, has been discontinued.
DTE will take into account the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024, a medical entrance test, and the national-level engineering entrance exam, JEE Main 2024, in the areas of Physics and Chemistry for admission to Pharmacy degrees. This implies that students from Goa who want to enroll in pharmacy programs may choose to take JEE Main, NEET 2024, or both.
“The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Main)-2024, to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in January 2024 and April 2024, will be the basis for admission to Engineering B.E. Degree courses in the State of Goa in the year 2024-25,” according to the official DTE announcement.
Admission to the State of Goa’s B.Pharm. degree program in pharmacy for the 2024–2025 academic year will be determined by the applicant’s best overall score in the physics and chemistry sections from either the JEE–Main 2024 or NEET–2024 exams. Consequently, candidates for admission to the B. Pharm. Program may choose to submit their answers for JEE-Main 2024, NEET-2024, or BOTH, the announcement said.
Registration for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 Session 1 opened on November 1st, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates who meet the requirements may register at jeemain.nta.nic.in, the official website. The application deadline is November 30. January 24–February 1 is when JEE Main 2024 will have its first session. NEET UG 2024, meanwhile, is scheduled on May 5 of the next year. It is expected that the notice and application date will be announced shortly. According to NTA, the results for NEET (UG) 2024 would be released by the second week of June.
