Imphal IED explosion results in one death and one injury

In the conflict-torn city of Imphal, Manipur, miscreants set fire to the headquarters of a powerful Meitei organization on Friday, setting off a bomb that left one person dead. The Imphal West district’s DM College compound is where the explosion happened. The All Manipur Students’ Union office is located at the college.

The 24 year olds Oinam Kenegy and Salam Michael were hurt when the miscreants detonated an IED. Each was taken in a hurry to a private hospital. Kenegy passed away from his wounds. Michael is receiving medical attention and is considered critically ill. Unidentified individuals set fire to the United Committee Manipur (UCM) office, a Meitei civil society organization, in the same district at the same time as this incident.

The third incident saw the miscreants setting a school in the Imphal East district on fire and vandalizing its administration building. Also destroyed were two scooters that were parked on the property.

As for the assaults, no organization has taken a stance. The authorities assumed that these were coordinated strikes because of the timing and execution of them. The UCM, a coalition of 36 civil society organizations founded in 2001, denounced the arson assault on its headquarters.
