In a tense argument at a meat shop in Nagpur, a man was killed

An official said that a 38-year-old man lost his life on Sunday in Nagpur after being assaulted by a youngster at a meat store.

Sai Nagar resident and victim Mahendra Rama Kohle went to a butcher store in the late afternoon to get some mutton, when he ran into a friend. He said that the two quickly engaged into a contentious disagreement.

The official said that Kohle and the acquaintance were being calmed down by the defendant, Aashiq Sheikh Babbu Sheikh Rehman (22), who was present in the store at the time.

However, Kohle turned his rage on Rehman and started verbally harassing him, according to the Hudkeshwar police station officer.

Rehman chose a meat cleaver out of a fit of fury and struck Kohle in the head, chest, and neck. According to the official, Kohle was brought to a hospital where medical staff confirmed him dead.

The officer said that Rehman had been detained under Indian Penal Code section 302 (murder), and that he will appear in court on Monday.
