JJP and BJP have a covert agreement, claims Brijendra Singh

Brijendra Singh, a former Hisar BJP MP who recently joined the Congress, launched a vicious assault on the BJP and JJP, claiming that both parties maintain a covert agreement despite severing their official connections in Haryana.

Speaking with reporters in Uchana town, Brijendra Singh’s home constituency, he said that he had been uneasy with the BJP after a while after being elected as a Hisar MP in 2019.

“I felt uncomfortable with the party and realized that my ideological views did not align with those of the BJP. So, I made the decision to leave the BJP a while back. However, I remained in the party because I didn’t want to provoke a byelection,” Singh said.

He went on to say that he disagreed with the BJP on the topics of the agitation of farmers, women wrestlers, and the Agniveer policy for army recruiting, and that he had openly spoken his opinions on these matters while still a member of the BJP.

Brijendra Singh said that he was pleased by Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress leader. Singh asserted that there was still a political agreement between the JJP and the BJP, notwithstanding their recent purported split.

They are playing out a dramatic separation. Behind the scenes, all sides are still working together. Who is now representing the BJP’s B squad is publicly known,” he said. Singh said that Dushyant Chautala’s claims about airport development in Hisar, 65% reservation in private jobs in Haryana, and increase in old age pension were all lies. He was referring to Chautala’s statement that the BJP leadership had instructed him to run from the Rohtak Lok Sabha seat.
