JP Dutta on receiving the Maharashtra Bhushan Raj Kapoor Award: “This recognition means everything”

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde presented renowned director JP Dutta with the esteemed Maharashtra Bhushan Raj Kapoor Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Indian cinema.

He received the prestigious accolade during a recent award event in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
JP Dutta’s career has spanned decades and has been distinguished by a number of outstanding films that have influenced the Indian cinema industry.

“This recognition means everything because it comes from the place I was born and raised in… this state this city is my home and to be honored by your home there is nothing bigger,” JP Dutta said in an expression of gratitude after accepting the award. “Also, for a boy who started his career from RK film studios to be given an award named after Raj Kapoor is a feeling I can’t put into words.” I am grateful to the Cultural Ministry, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis ji, and the Honorable Chief Minister Shri Eknath Shinde for this honor and appreciation of my efforts.”

Notable action plays that he has directed include “Yateem,” “Batwara,” “LOC: Kargil,” and “Border,” which won him the National Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. (ANI)
