Kerala’s CPI(M) suspects a conspiracy to cause the Mark List controversy

The governing CPI (M) in Kerala said on Wednesday that there was a massive conspiracy behind the purported mark list scandal involving its student wing head and that an extensive investigation should be carried out to determine the “force” behind such “fake” claims. The CPI (M) has come under fire from a variety of sources over the allegations.

Additionally, it was made plain that the party had no obligation to defend anybody and that anyone who had engaged in criminal activity should be compelled to face the consequences in court.

When SFI state secretary P M Arsho, an Ernakulam student attending Maharaja’s College, saw on his mark sheet that he had “passed” despite not showing up for any exams, the issue broke out.

K Vidhya, a former member of the Leftwing student group, also ran into difficulties when it was discovered that she had fabricated an experience certificate from the Maharaja’s College in order to get a position as a professor at another institution.

A large conspiracy is being planned against the Left-leaning group, said CPI(M) state secretary M V Govindan in response to questions about the accusations the SFI leader is facing in the mark list issue.

“We are aware that the SFI is the target of a significant conspiracy in this respect. To determine the motivation behind the news that paints the SFI in a negative light, a thorough investigation should be carried out, he added.

Govindan said, “In both situations, there is no need for the party or the government to provide protection for anybody.

The leader demanded to know how someone could pass an exam without showing up for it and accused the media of adopting a position against the left-leaning group based on unfounded claims.

Senior CPI (M) leader A Vijayaraghavan responded to the mark list problem by saying it was only a “technical error”.

He said that although anyone with common sense would see that it was only a technical problem, the situation was being purposefully used for anti-CPI (M) propaganda.

When questioned about the experience certificate fabrication case against the former SFI leader, he said that anybody who engaged in malpractice would be subject to legal action.

Ramesh Chennithala, the leader of the Congress, criticized the SFI leadership harshly in response to the accusations and charged Govindan of supporting the suspects.

These instances and M. V. Govindan’s defense of himself demonstrate how the CPI (M) has deteriorated. He told reporters here that the state secretary of the Marxist party has descended to the point of excusing any misconduct.

KSU, the Congress’s student wing, has previously claimed that Arsho’s name appears on the third semester’s mark list for the archaeology test despite though he did not sit for it.

Additionally, the opposition claimed that Vidhya had assistance from the SFI leadership in fabricating the false experience certificate.

After she presented the fake paper during an interview for the position of a guest professor in Malayalam at a government institution in Attappady in Palakkad, the alleged fraud perpetrated by Vidhya was discovered.

When several panelists expressed concern about the seal and logo on the experience certificate that Vidhya had provided, they contacted the administration of Maharaja’s College, who made it apparent that no such individual had served as a guest lecturer there during the time frame specified in the letter.

The accused, who was formerly a student at the same institution, was also reported to the police by the administration.

A case was filed against Vidhya under the non-bailable section based on the complaint.
