According to reports, the Aam Aadmi Party has reached an agreement with the grand old party on seats in Delhi, Gujarat, Assam, and Haryana, subsequent to the Congress and Samajwadi Party’s seat-sharing arrangement in Uttar Pradesh.

The leaders of the two parties have reached a consensus over the number of seats each would compete after many rounds of negotiations, the sources continued. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and national convenor of the AAP, said on Wednesday that the alliance discussions had been postponed and that there will be new developments in the next day or two.

According to the agreement, the Congress would run for three seats in Delhi and the AAP for four. While a deal has been reached for one seat each in Haryana and Assam, the Congress has decided to grant the AAP two seats in Gujarat.

Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress, allies in the I.N.D.I.A. bloc, finalized on Wednesday the seat-sharing arrangement in Uttar Pradesh for the next Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled for April and May of this year. While Congress is allocated 17 seats, the Samajwadi Party and its coalition allies will compete for 63 seats.

The Congress will run for 28 of the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, while the SP will strive to win one seat.
