Made the decision to run for the Lok Sabha in order to demand the full restoration of J-K’s statehood: Azad

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said on Wednesday that the main reason he chose to run for the Lok Sabha was to advocate for the full restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood.

Speaking to reporters in this location, he likened the breakup of the former state to a bolt of political lightning and said that his campaign for the full restoration of statehood must come to a sensible end.

“Even though I have been choosing people to run for other seats, I felt that I needed to take the lead myself. He said, “I like to lead from the front; I’m not the one who directs.”

After splitting from the Congress in 2022, Azad founded the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP). He said he would bring up the subject of the full restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood and remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of the pledge made in Parliament.

“This is absolutely baseless,” he remarked, rejecting National Conference leader and former chief minister Omar Abdullah’s assertion that he was an outsider in Anantnag. I may run for office from anyplace in my state and my nation. I ran from Washim, Maharashtra, and won while Omar Saheb was still in school.

He said that in order for Jammu and Kashmir to satisfy its electrical requirements, thermal power plants are necessary, and if elected to the Lok Sabha, he will see to it that the union territory’s power needs are satisfied.
