Madhya Pradesh: Police Arrest Man Caught On Camera Urinating On Tribal Youth

Police have detained the suspect after a video showing a guy in Madhya Pradesh urinating on a tribal kid circulated on social media yesterday.

According to authorities, the suspect has been identified as Pravesh Shukla.

Anjulata Patle, the more Superintendent of Police in Sidhi, said that the accused is now being questioned and that more legal action would be taken shortly.

Speaking to the reporters, ASP Patle said, “We have detained the suspect (Pravesh Shukla). He is being questioned. The situation will shortly be the subject of more legal proceedings.

Sections 294 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code as well as the SC/ST Act have both been the subject of a complaint filed against the accused.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister, ordered that he be charged under the National Security Act (NSA) yesterday.

In the MP district of Sidhi, the police have reported the occurrence. Pravesh Shukla has been named as the defendant.

Shukla is allegedly connected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), according to the opposition Congress, however this could not be quickly verified and the BJP has refuted the claim.

“I’ve seen a popular video from the Sidhi area. Invoking the National Security Act (NSA), Chouhan said in a Hindi tweet, “I have instructed the administration to arrest the guilty and execute the toughest measures.

A case was filed against the suspect, identified as Pravesh Shukla, at the Bahari police station under Indian Penal Code sections 294 (obscene acts), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace), and provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities Act), a representative of the Chief Minister’s Office told PTI.

The official said that steps had also been taken against the strict NSA.

Kamal Nath, the leader of the MP Congress, stated such an act had no place in the civilized world in a tweet that was posted in Hindi.

Nath said that the accused is reportedly a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member. He said this one atrocity has brought disgrace on the whole state, noting that MP has the highest rate of crimes against tribal people.

According to Nath, the individual who urinated is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Already, Madhya Pradesh ranks first in terms of crimes against indigenous people. The whole state is now disgraced by this behavior. I urge that Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister impose the harshest penalties and put a stop to the atrocities committed against tribal people.

According to a tweet from MP BJP media in-charge Ashish Agarwal, the accused, named as Pravesh Shukla, is not a BJP member.

According to PTI, several social media postings stated that Shukla was speaking on behalf of Kedarnath Shukla, a BJP lawmaker from Sidhi, although many efforts to reach him for comment were unsuccessful.

The accused was referred to as “Vidhayak Pratinidhi Sidhi”—the representative of the MLA—on a banner that Pawan Khera, the head of the Congress’ media and publicity department, shared with the public.

“Tribal people in our nation are treated inhumanely in the twenty-first century, and we want to be ‘Vishwa guru. What could be more degrading than this? In Hindi, Khera tweeted.
