Maharashtra bus accident: CM Shinde announces ex gratia payments of Rs. 5 lakh and free medical care for those hurt

Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, has promised a Rs. 5 lakh ex gratia to the surviving family members of the dead and free medical care for those injured in the bus accident that occurred on the Samruddhi Mahamarg Motorway on Saturday.

The reimbursement from the Chief Minister’s relief fund has been declared by Shinde. “Expressing condolences to the deceased and their families in this unfortunate incident, the Chief Minister has announced an assistance of Rs 5 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of the deceased,” reads an official statement from the CM office.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister has also mandated an investigation into the fatal tragedy.

The Chief Minister has called for an investigation into the situation after expressing his sadness over the terrible catastrophe.

Three children were among the 26 fatalities from the disaster.

“While giving instructions to provide immediate help to the accident victims, the Chief Minister also directed to provide immediate medical treatment to the injured at government expense,” the statement continued.
According to police authorities, the driver who survived the collision said that it happened after a bus tyre ruptured, which caused flames to spread inside.

According to the authorities, the accident’s precise cause has not yet been determined.

On Saturday at around 1:30 in the am, the collision happened on the Samruddhi-Mahamarg Motorway.

Around 1:30 in the morning, an accident occurred on the bus while it was making its way from Nagpur to Pune. The bus’s interior caught on fire as a result of a ruptured tyre, according to the driver. Later, a fire started in the car’s fuel tank. Three children are among those who perished, while the remaining people are all adults. “We have not yet determined the precise cause of the accident,” Buldhana SP Sunil Kadasane informed the media.

33 passengers made up the bus that was headed to Pune, according to police authorities.
