Mahua Moitra criticizes PM Modi during the discussion over a no-confidence motion in LS, saying, “Tum abhi chup raho republic”

Mahua Moitra, a member of the Trinamool Congress, attacked the administration on Thursday in reference to the ethnic unrest in Manipur.

According to Moitra, the purpose of the vote of no confidence is to remove the taboo surrounding Manipur.

In our ‘tum abhi chup raho’ republic, the prime minister directs a governor to say ‘chup raho,’ thus we are here to pose the question. ‘Chup raho’ is a common phrase used to address us as elected members of this House. This move is intended to end the taboo around Manipur, according to Moitra of the TMC.

“PM Modi will not listen to us, he will come on the last day and give his speech,” Moitra said in a jab at the prime minister. Which is worse, that our Prime Minister won’t attend Parliament or that he won’t visit Manipur?

Notably, according to a tweet from the Prime Minister’s office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to respond during the no-confidence debate in the Lok Sabha today at 4:00 pm.

As the No Confidence Motion was being discussed in Parliament today, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the government’s unwavering commitment to the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, aur Sabka Prayas.”

Minister Sitharaman said that development is made through deeds rather than just words and defended the government’s initiatives while highlighting India’s tremendous economic change.

She emphasized the global economic issues, including as rising inflation and slow development, that have caused substantial obstacles for countries all over the globe as she started her speech in the Lok Sabha.

The Finance Minister said that India’s economy has grown commendably despite the global economic challenges.

Additionally, during his speech to the lower house, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi poked fun at the administration.

“Yesterday, our home minister spoke ‘Quit India’. I wonder if he learns that the Muslim who invented the phrase “Quit India” will stop using it. I want to stress that the sort of politics the Central Government is doing would be detrimental to the nation. Owaisi stated, “I want to question the PM whether Hindutva is more important than the nation.

Significantly, the Union Home Minister had posted on Twitter the day before, saying, “As the nation breathes the air of Independence today, every 9th of August comes as a fragrant memory of the Quit India Movement and the great souls who led it, filling our hearts with the resolute inspiration to echo in one voice: Corruption Quit India. Reconciliation Leave India. “Dynasty Leaves India.”
