MDMK Member of Parliament Ganeshamurthi passes away following an alleged endeavor at self-inflicted demise

In the early hours of Thursday, Avinashi Ganeshamurthi, the esteemed MDMK MP hailing from Erode, succumbed to a sudden cardiac arrest following an alleged attempt at self-inflicted harm. His demise occurred at 5:05 am, marking a solemn moment. Admitted to the hospital on March 24, the 76-year-old statesman’s health had been in a precarious state.

Transported to an Erode medical facility in dire circumstances last Sunday, Ganeshamurthi was subsequently relocated to a distinguished private hospital in Coimbatore. Throughout his medical care, he relied on ECHO support for sustenance.

Ganeshamurthi, a seasoned parliamentarian serving three terms, held a significant position within the MDMK ranks. However, purportedly disheartened by the party’s decision to withhold a nomination for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Erode constituency, he openly voiced his discontent. This discord stemmed from the recent choice by both the MDMK and DMK to nominate Durai Vaiko, the offspring of MDMK’s esteemed general secretary, Vaiko, as their joint candidate.
