Mumbai will receive the nation’s longest subterranean road after the country’s first underwater tunnel

India’s first underwater tunnel, the Coastal Road tunnel was built using a 12-meter diameter tunnel boring machine (TBM) that was brought in from China during the epidemic. During construction, the two-arm, south- and north-bound tunnel set records, however Covid caused delays in the process.
