Nijjar’s Murder: EAM Jaishanker Will Probably Address Justin Trudeau’s Charges At The UN General Assembly

S Jaishanker, the minister of external affairs for the Union, is anticipated to reply to Justin Trudeau’s claim that Indian agents were involved in the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey.

Today, Jaishanker will speak at a high-level session of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). He is anticipated to discuss the situation that has caused India and Canada to experience previously unheard-of diplomatic friction. A delegation from India is now in New York, including EAM. On Monday in New York, he also had a meeting with Dennis Francis, the president of the UNGA.

On the fringes of the UNGA, Jaishanker also met with his American counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the two leaders reaffirmed their strong bilateral ties.

Following Justin Trudeau’s statement that their agencies were actively looking into “credible allegations” of possible connections between agents of the Indian government and the murder of a Canadian citizen (referring to the murder of Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey on June 18), there was a diplomatic spat between India and Canada.

India, on the other hand, dismissed the accusations as “absurd” and “motivated,” but the situation took a terrible turn when Canada abruptly removed a top Indian ambassador. India’s response included the expulsion of a Canadian diplomat. Even the residents of the two nations who reside there or visit there were advised.

Chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot and murdered on June 18 of this year in Surrey, Canada, by unidentified attackers. Additionally, he served as the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib’s head. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) offered a monetary reward of Rs. 10 lakh for information leading to the capture of Nijjar, one of India’s most wanted terrorists.
