Comprehensive preparations have been undertaken to ensure that the State’s Group-I screening exam (Prelims) runs well on Sunday.

On Saturday, Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy had a virtual conference from his camp office with the District Collectors and SPs, where he reviewed the preparations made at the test centers.

Prelims for Group I will take place in 301 locations throughout the state. A total of 1,48,881 applicants have registered for the two-phase exam scheduled for Sunday. Paper 2 will take place from 2 to 4 pm, and Paper 1 from 10 am to 12 pm.

In order to prevent any unfortunate situations, he instructed the Collectors and SPs to implement Section 144 enforcement in addition to making sure that the test centers had impenetrable security. Every district has an IAS officer assigned as the incharge to oversee the efficient administration of the test.

Senior officials at the district level have also been assigned as liaison officers. The Chief Secretary said that in addition to setting up a drinking water supply and other amenities at each test center, the Collectors should provide a constant electricity supply.

Adequate security measures should be established for moving the answer sheets and other materials from the examination centers to the strong rooms, he added, giving the APPSC officials instructions to carefully supervise the examination’s conduct from the State-level control room.
