Pakistan is to teach Punjabi. Punjabi educational institutions
The declaration that Punjabi would be taught in Pakistani Punjabi schools has been welcomed by the SGPC.
The decision about the teaching of Punjabi in state schools made by Maryam Nawaz, the recently elected Chief Minister of Punjab in Pakistan, was welcomed by SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami in a press release released here on Wednesday.
According to Dhami, Punjabi is the mother language of the indigenous people of both Punjabs and should be transmitted to the next generation.
According to the head of the SGPC, CM Maryam Nawaz said that Punjabi will be taught in schools as a subject on March 9, which was Punjab Culture Day. He said that in Pakistan’s Punjab, the topic of teaching Punjabi has been dragged out for a very long period. He supported starting Punjabi instruction in elementary school.
