Parties in Ferozepur who have not yet revealed their identities are targeting traitors

Out of 13 seats, only the Ferozepur Lok Sabha constituency, which spans three districts—Ferozepur, Muktsar, and Fazilka—has not yet had a major political party declare a candidate. Political activity hasn’t accelerated here either as a consequence.

Currently serving as an MP for this seat is SAD head Sukhbir Badal. On the other hand, Sukhbir said he would not run for office. Ferozepur Urban, Ferozepur Rural, Guru Har Sahai, Jalalabad, Fazilka, Balluana, Abohar, Malout, and Muktsar are the nine Assembly segments that make up the constituency. All eight MLAs in this constituency are AAP members, with the exception of Abohar.

Political analysts said that all parties were looking for a qualified candidate and anticipating some defections as well. “The game of wait and watch is underway, as there are rumors in political circles that some major names might change sides in the coming days. They asserted that “the caste factor also plays an important role here.”

There are sizable populations of Sikhs, Rai Sikhs, Kambojs, and Hindus in this area. Given that Hindus account for 32% of the vote in this area, a few Hindu politicians are making a lot of effort to get tickets.

This seat also includes the hamlet of Panjkosi, the birthplace of State BJP president Sunil Jakhar, in the Abohar sector.

Nine candidates have received tickets from the AAP so far: Dr. Balbir Singh from Patiala, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer from Sangrur, Gurmeet Singh Khudian from Bathinda, Gurpreet Singh GP from Fatehgarh Sahib, Karamjit Singh Anmol from Faridkot, Malwinder Singh Kang from Anandpur Sahib, and Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal from Hoshiarpur. From Jalandhar, Sushil Kumar Rinku also received an AAP ticket; however, he subsequently joined the BJP.

Six candidates have been put out by the BJP so far: Preneet Kaur from Patiala, Hans Raj Hans from Faridkot, Taranjit Singh Sandhu from Amritsar, Jalandhar’s Sushil Kumar Rinku, Ludhiana’s Ravneet Singh Bittu, and Gurdaspur’s Dinesh Singh Babbu. Simranjit Singh Mann of Sangrur was one of the five candidates put out by SAD (Amritsar) as far.

In the field, the contenders have already begun their campaigns.
