Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims that for the last nine years, India has focused on “green and clean energy”

On World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about India moving forward with a clear strategy for addressing climate change and environmental preservation while striking a balance between immediate needs and long-term goals.

Modi said that India has improved its forest cover on an equal level with the expansion of its 4G and 5G telecommunications networks.

The Indian Prime Minister said, “The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is to get rid of single-use plastic, an issue that the world is talking about today but India has been working on it consistently for the last four to five years.”

He said, “In 2018 itself, India began working at two levels for getting rid of single-use plastic, in his video address to the nation on this occasion. We made the processing of plastic garbage obligatory while also outlawing single-use plastic, he added.

The environment is a major area of concern for India, according to Prime Minister @narendramodi, just like any other for its development.
