Significant Setback For The Congress: Former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri Joins BJP Before The LS Polls

Today in Bhopal, senior Congress politician and former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri became a member of the BJP. The Madhya Pradesh Congress leadership would be taken aback by the move in advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

As former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri announced his intention to join the BJP, Madhya Pradesh BJP President VD Sharma made remarks about the former minister’s standing inside the Congress.

“Suresh Pachouri, a former Union Minister and current Congress politician, is a prominent figure in the Madhya Pradesh Congress. He has chosen to join the BJP and serve under PM Modi’s leadership since there isn’t room for such a leader there, Sharma told reporters.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former chief minister, was also present at the function.

As he welcomed Pachouri to the party, Chouhan informed reporters that “Rahul Gandhi would only breathe once the Congress is finished, as Mahatma Gandhi said. Good congressional leaders have grown weary of their party’s incompetent leadership.

Sanjay Shukla and Suresh Pachouri, two prominent Congressmen, are joining the BJP today.

“Aage aage Rahul jaa raha hai, peechhe peechhe Congress saaf ho rahi hai,” Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav said to reporters.

Pachouri, a member of the grand old party for four terms in the Rajya Sabha and Union Minister of State for Defense (Defence Production and Supplies), was close to the Gandhi family.

This event transpired just after rumors circulated that senior Congressman Kamal Nath would be joining the BJP. Later, the state’s congressional leadership made it clear that he is and will continue to be a congressman and that they were only rumors.

Nath made a suggestion a few days later that he would be open to leaving politics if the party so wished.

He said to the Chhindwara party workers, “It’s up to you if you want to bid Kamal Nath farewell. I’m prepared to go. I’m not looking to push myself. You have this option.
