An IPS officer was dismissed from the CSCB.
Sanjeev Kumar Singhal, a senior IPS official, has been dismissed from his position as head of the Central Selection Board (which recruits constables). He will be replaced by Shobha Ohatkar, another IPS official, who is currently Director General (Home Guards and Fire Services). Since Singhal had not yet served out his whole tenure as DGP, his sudden dismissal from the position after he had retired has caused a stir in the administrative community. There are rumors that the question papers for the test used to hire constables were leaked beforehand, which infuriated the political leaders. Each of the 74 FIRs was filed in connection with the matter of the question paper leak.
