The lunch bell initiative by Kudumbashree is a success

The Kudumbashree’s “Lunch Bell” program, which serves home-cooked meals to government employees and employees of private organizations, has been an immediate success. Introduced a month ago, inexpensively prepared sandwiches would be delivered to certain areas across the city.

Since its start, up to 3,000 lunch boxes have been supplied, with sales totaling Rs 1.5 lakh.

Kudumbashree now delivers meals to Pattom, LMS, Medical College Hospital, Statue, and Ayurveda College, among other five sites. Thus far, we have received around 1,700 orders. An spokesperson from the Kudumbashree Mission said, “We are planning to expand soon due to the overwhelming response.”

Nine delivery personnel are now assigned to the delivery portion. Kudumbashree intends to extend its services to Technopark and Collectorate in the next phase. The official went on, “We intend to expand the service to more locations and increase the number of delivery staff to 50.”

The Kudumbashree catering firm, which was hired for the project, claims that lunchbox demand is rising. “The demand is more than the 150 lunch boxes we provide each day. The daily restriction of 150 prevents many individuals from placing purchases. There are restrictions due to the quantity of delivery personnel. A member of the catering unit crew said, “We can provide 500 lunch boxes.

We now have ten employees managing the kitchen. We can hire additional people in the kitchen if we get more orders. We can provide additional job possibilities,” the staff member said.
