The Madhya Pradesh section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway may open in July or August

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, the 244-kilometer segment of the Delhi-Mumbai highway that is in Madhya Pradesh is almost finished and is expected to open to the public in July or August.

This e-way’s first segment, from Sohna in Haryana to Dausa in Rajasthan, was officially opened in February of this year.

An official from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways told News18 that the length in Madhya Pradesh is finished and just needs to be finished. According to the source, eight of the nine packages of the Delhi-Mumbai highway that travel through the state have finished construction.

“The foundation is complete. There is still more finishing to do, which will be finished in the next few days. The source spoke on condition of anonymity and predicted that the Madhya Pradesh sector will likely be officially opened in July or August.

It is also significant to remember that, according to government papers, the goal deadline for finishing the operation in Madhya Pradesh was April 30.

The section of the Delhi-Mumbai expressway that runs through Madhya Pradesh would link the state’s main cities, including Garoth, Jaora, Ratlam, and Thandla, as well as the Mandsaur, Ratlam, and Jhabua districts.

The 1,386-km Delhi-Mumbai expressway is being built at a rapid rate. By the end of the next year, the full section should be finished. The 246-kilometer Sohna-Dausa-Lalsot stretch of this expressway, one of its parts, was opened on February 12. Its construction cost more than Rs 12,150 crore. As a result, the five-hour journey from Delhi to Jaipur now takes just around 3.5 hours.

The Delhi-Mumbai highway would link the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Its development is costing around Rs. 1 lakh crore.

The 1,386 km highway, when finished, would be the longest in India and cut the distance between Delhi and Mumbai’s travel time in half, from roughly 24 hours to 12 hours. Additionally, it will reduce the distance from 1,424 kilometers to 1,242 km, a reduction of around 200 kilometres.

Millions would benefit from this expressway’s improved access to prosperous cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Kota, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bhopal, Ujjain, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat.

The government estimates that the e-way will save more than 320 million liters of gasoline annually and cut CO2 emissions by 850 million kg, which is the same as planting 40 million trees.
